"And Satan trembles when he sees, the weakest saint upon his knees." -William Cowper

Current Prayer Requests

8 Forms of Poverty: Pray for stamina as I go into the final six months of this large project.
Pablo: Pablo starts his 2nd year of culinary school in February.  We will continue to meet for tutoring at my apartment.
Mateo: for his continued involvement and growth at my church

Big Picture Prayer Requests

Guatemalans: That they see Jesus.  And that God opens my senses to what I can learn from them
Video: That I will remember to seek God in all parts of the video making process
Personal: That I'll never sacrifice my communion with the Lord for the sake of "urgent"work

Past Prayer Requests

Requests from Feb. 2015
Campaign: I'm currently working on a website and three videos, all that will be launched in June/July through a campaign whose fundamental ideas were first proposed by me.  There's a lot of pressure here, in every aspect of the campaign.
Update: Click here to see one of the campaign videos!
Jonathan: for his growth--spiritually, professionally, and personally
Update: Jonathan and I continue to meet for discipleship and investment into his career.
Financial Support: My extended time with Potter's House again requires financial support.  Please pray for the Lord's provision and the Lord's strength, as I will be managing a full time job (with campaign duties) in addition to seeking support.
Update: Thank you for helping me reach my financial goals for 2015!

Requests from Feb. 2015
Pedro: Pedro was recently hit by a drunk/drugged driver while taking his younger siblings to school. No one was seriously hurt, but he's shaken up and bruised.
Update: Full recovery for Pedro! Also, he filmed a project recently for school that I was able to help him with
Jonathan: I've taken on an apprentice, Jonathan, 17, who will spend a year with me learning video and helping with video projects.  Jonathan lives in the dump community and graduated from the Potter's House education program. Please pray for him (and me!) as we embark on a journey of professional, personal, and spiritual growth
Update: Going on 4 months and 4 videos with Jonathan.  We've really enjoyed working together, as well as our discipleship time together.
Me: A Praise: I've reached an agreement with Potter's House to extend my time here until Dec. 31st 2015!

Requests from Oct. 2014 #2
One: Praise the Lord for the short term missions team from my church that came to build two homes alongside two poor families in the dump community.  These families are now enrolled in a program that will send their children to school and provide the parents with job training that will help them take another step away from poverty.  Each family was introduced to their local church, who have committed to discipling them.
Two: I'm currently meeting with someone who's interested in renting out the guest room in my condo.  Pray for wisdom in this process. In order to meet Potter's House's expectations for my security, I had to get an place that is beyond my budget.  A condo-mate would greatly reduce costs!
Update: no long-term roommate was found, but my good friend Mike did stay with me for two months to volunteer with Potter's House!
The Team from my church, inside one of the two new homes they constructed alongside two poverty stricken families.
Requests from May 2014 #1
One: Wisdom and patience in developing my current project, a video that describes PHA's entire ministry.  The sheer breadth of their work makes this video challenging
Update: Click here to watch the finished video!
Two: That I learn to say "No." In Guatemala, presence of a videographer is so rare that many ask me for a video as a personal favor. (ex. will you film my graduation, will you film my church's service, etc.).  It becomes emotionally tiring to say no so often, so I can say "yes" to more impactful projects.
Update: In three months, I have only taken on one video as a favor for someone.  This is progress!
